Caustic Soda

Caustic soda, whose other names are sodium hydroxide, caustic soda, sodium hydrate, and white caustic, is a highly versatile chemical compound used in various industrial processes. It is a white, odorless, and highly caustic solid that is soluble in water. Caustic soda is typically available in two main forms: flakes and prills.

Flakes: Caustic soda flakes are solid, flat, and often translucent. They are commonly used in applications where precise dosing or dissolution is required, such as in water treatment or chemical manufacturing.

Prills: Caustic soda prills are small, spherical pellets. They are easier to handle and transport than flakes, and they are often preferred in situations where convenience and ease of use are important factors.

Both forms of caustic soda are highly soluble in water, producing a strongly alkaline solution. This solution is corrosive and can cause severe chemical burns upon contact with the skin or other organic materials.
