1. Zinc sulfate monohydrate and biofilm

Zinc plays a key role in the function and structure of biofilms. Zinc interacts with phospholipids and membrane protein sulfhydryl groups to stabilize biofilms. Zinc has been reported to inhibit lipid peroxidation or mercaptan oxidation, thus maintaining the normal biological function of biofilms. The superoxide dismutase of copper and zinc is the key enzyme to eliminate the superoxide group.

The activity of superoxide dismutase decreases when zinc is absent. The superoxide dismutase of peroxidase catalyzes superoxide anion disproportionation. In the machine, iron and mercaptan have a strong affinity, the two combined with a strong ability to catalyze free radical reactions, and zinc can be competitive with iron mercaptan binding, blocking the combination of iron and mercaptan so as to reduce or prevent the destructive catalytic oxidation reaction of iron and prevent the formation of new free radical possibilities.

Since zinc is related to the activity of RNA polymerase and ribonuclease, and can prevent ribonuclease from acting on ribosomal RNA, the activity of ribonuclease decreases under the condition of adequate zinc, while the activity of ribonuclease in vivo increases under the condition of zinc deficiency, so the RNA level drops significantly under the condition of zinc deficiency. Thus, zinc has an indirect effect on protein biosynthesis and the transmission of genetic information.
