Calcium tetrahydrate is an inorganic salt formed by the ionization and formation of nitrate ions and calcium. It is a colorless transparent monoclinic crystal, belonging to the monoclinic crystal system, and has two crystal forms: α and β. The relative density is 1.82, the melting point is 39.7°C, and it decomposes at about 40°C. When heated to 151°C, it is completely dehydrated into anhydrous calcium nitrate water. If it is heated to 495～500°C, it will decompose into oxygen, and calcium nitrite; decompose to produce nitric oxide gas and calcium oxide.
Calcium salt 4H2O is an oxidizing agent, has hygroscopicity and is easily deliquescent in the air. Calcium salt 4H2O is easily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, amyl alcohol, acetone, methyl acetate, and liquid ammonia. Calcium nitrate is easily deliquescent when placed in the air. |
