How do you use MKP for plants?

MKP fertiliser, which stands for monopotassium phosphate fertiliser, is a widely used starter fertilizer for plants. It is a versatile fertilizer that can be used on a variety of crops, including vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants. Below are some guidelines on how to use MKP for plants:

1. As a starter fertilizer: MKP is an excellent starter fertilizer that can enhance root development and seed germination. To use it as a starter fertilizer, apply 2-4 lb/acre in no less than 5 gal of water. Mix the fertilizer in a watering can or sprayer and apply it to the soil around the plant.

2. In hydroponic systems: MKP is also an ideal fertilizer for hydroponic systems. When used in hydroponic systems, it provides plants with all the necessary nutrients they need to grow healthy and strong. Use 1-2 tsp of MKP per gallon of water and adjust the pH of the solution to between 5.5 and 6.5.

3. Along with other fertilizers: MKP fertiliser can be used in combination with other fertilizers to provide plants with a balanced supply of nutrients. For instance, you can mix MKP with urea, ammonium nitrate, or potassium nitrate to create a complete fertilizer solution.

4. For foliar application: MKP can also be applied as a foliar spray to provide a quick nutrient boost to plants. Mix 1-2 teaspoons of MKP in one gallon of water and spray it on the leaves of the plant. However, do not apply MKP when the plant is under stress from drought, heat, or disease.
