The present invention relates to the field of chemical technology and specifically discloses a method for treating potassium nitrate in nature waste, which comprises the following steps: a) collecting potassium nitrate waste generated from chemically strengthened glass and mixing it with water to obtain a diluted waste liquid, wherein the concentration of potassium nitrate in the diluted waste liquid is 40%–70%; b) heating the diluted waste liquid to 50–100 °C, and after it is completely dissolved, filtering the solution to remove sodium nitrate and other impurities.

The filtered filtrate drops below room temperature and then undergoes crystallization, dehydration, and drying to obtain potassium nitrate powder. The present invention uses a method of dilution, heating, and dissolution to treat potassium nitrate in nature waste and then uses filtration to remove the high content of sodium nitrate and impurities, thereby increasing the concentration of potassium nitrate in the potassium nitrate solution and achieving a purification effect so that the obtained potassium nitrate powder can be sold as a product.

When glass-strengthening processing enterprises use the ion exchange method to strengthen glass, the waste liquid generated by soaking the glass in liquid potassium nitrate in nature is placed at room temperature as solid waste.

Enterprises generally transfer this solid potassium nitrate waste to waste treatment plants for high-temperature heating, decompression, and concentration treatment in order to reduce environmental pollution. However, using the traditional methods mentioned above to recover and treat potassium nitrate waste generated from reinforced glass is not only costly but also has a complex recovery process.

Therefore, how to achieve the recovery and treatment of potassium nitrate in nature waste and improve the economic benefits of enterprises is currently one of the topics that technical personnel in this field have been studying.
