Introduction |
The thermal behavior of graphite/potassium nitrate (C/KNO3) with different proportions was studied by the TG-DSC technique. The kinetic parameters of the thermal decomposition reaction for the C/KNO3=90/10 mixture were calculated by Friedman's method. Results show that thermal decomposition of C/KNO3 is a solid-phase reaction. At the same heating rate, the proportion and the decomposition characteristics are different.
At different heating rates, the proportion is the same, but the decomposition characteristics are also different. The C/KNO3/KNO3mposition process is very complex, with three or more reactions. The activation energy of the main decomposition reaction is between 102.84~374.27 kJ·mol-1, and the pre-exponential factor is between about 3.25~10.39 s-1. |

Many studies have been conducted on representative energetic materials, such as RDX in some materials, but the research on mixed energetic materials is still not comprehensive. This study used graphite to replace charcoal and potassium nitrate to form a binary black powder.
Combined with synchronous TG-DSC coupling technology and multivariate nonlinear fitting technology, the thermal decomposition and thermal analysis kinetics of graphite potassium nitrate under different conditions were studied, and the mechanism function followed was determined (α), and the activation energy E and pre-exponential factor A were calculated, providing some scientific basis for the study of binary black powder. |
