Production:
Fused magnesia is mainly made from magnesite 47% min by melting in an electric arc furnace. Fused magnesia product has high purity, large crystalline grains, compact structure, strong slag resistance, good thermal shock stability, and is an excellent material. High temperature electrical insulation materials are also important raw materials for making high-grade magnesia bricks, magnesia-carbon bricks and amorphous refractories.
The main features of fused magnesia products are as follows:
compact structure, high melting point (up to 2800℃), stable chemical performance, high compressive strength, strong insulation, erosion resistance and corrosion resistance. It is an important raw material for metallurgy, building materials, light industry, furnace lining and bulk materials, as well as steel, cement and glass. Glass, non-ferrous metal smelting and other industries indispensable important refractories.
Main uses of fused magnesia:
fused magnesia can be mainly used as auxiliary refractories such as gunning materials, ramming materials, special refractory bricks such as flow steel mouth bricks, magnesia bricks, magnesia chrome bricks, etc. It can also be used as refractory lining in vacuum and non-vacuum induction furnaces and electric arc furnaces. It is an ideal raw material for making magnesia crucible, furnace gallbladder and various high temperature sleeves.
