What are the effects of MgO on dairy cows?

Since it is a good source of magnesium, magnesium oxide is used as or in dietary supplements for humans and animals. In the case of animals, this is delivered as a food additive.

Magnesium can not only compensate for the lack of magnesium in the diet, avoid the onset of magnesium deficiency, but also be an excellent rumen buffer to regulate rumen fermentation, and add the absorption of precursors of breast milk to further improve milk production and milk fat rate. Magnesium oxide can prevent heat stress in dairy cows'diets. Magnesium ion can cooperate with potassium ion and sodium ion to maintain the balance of osmotic pressure in cell surface, alleviate the reaction of dairy cows to heat stress and ensure the reduction of milk yield.

Secondly, in the case of heat stress, we should further increase the amount of magnesium oxide in the diet, compensate for the loss of magnesium in the body, and ensure and adhere to the normal milk production value.
