Caustic calcined magnesite sand for feed additives, it is used as an Mg source in calf-milk replacement for the production of white meat. Calf milk replacers are dry powder mixes with the main ingredients: skimmed milk, vegetables, vitamins, minerals, dry fats, and MgO. The application requires a low-dust, low-heavy metal, and extremely low-iron content caustic calcined magnesia product that will be added to the mix to obtain the required Mg content in the final formulation.

Adding 50–90 g of MgO or 0.5% of concentrate to the diet of dairy cows can not only supplement the deficiency of magnesium in the diet and prevent the occurrence of magnesium deficiency but also be an excellent rumen buffer to regulate rumen fermentation, increase the absorption of milk synthetic precursor by the mammary gland, and improve milk yield and milk fat rate.
