In abrasive production, caustic calcined magnesite powder 90% is one of the main raw materials, which is a reactant with magnesium chlorite (MgCl2) to produce magnesium oxychloride cement. Due to the high bonding strength of magnesium oxychloride cement, it can be used to produce abrasive stones, such as polishing stones, grinding stones, flour mill stones, and so on.

In feed additives, caustic calcined magnesite powder 90% is used as a magnesium supplement for animals. Magnesium deficiency is more common in beef cattle and sheep than in dairy cattle because the amount of concentrate in the dairy cattle diet is higher than that in the beef cattle and sheep diet. The addition of MgO in ruminant diets ranged from 0.5% to 1.0%.
