Magnesium Oxide Ball

Magnesium oxide ball, we also call it MgO pellet, cinder ball, caustic calcined ball, light-burned magnsite ball, and so on. Which is produced from caustic-calcined magnetite powder by machine pressing. It is a new kind of product applied to a rotary melting furnace for sandmaking. Due to the high MgO content, the advantage is that it can also avoid with-in-furnace decomposition burning so as to save energy and improve the rate of slag in the steel industry.

MgO is a mineral with a high melting point (2800 °C); an improvement in MgO content will increase the slag viscosity and refractorines. So the slag will easily combine with the lining to form an effective slag layer. by enhancing the lining life and reducing consumption. It is used for converter steel making through the splashing cross to protect the furnace, which can raise the furnace life, improve the BOF and the converter operating rate to speed up the pace of production, and reduce consumption.
