Soluble in water and glycerol, insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is neutral. The solubility is highest at 33 °C (1:2) and decreases at higher temperatures. It is soluble in 2.4 parts of water at 100 °C. When the aqueous solution is below 32.38 °C, it crystallizes out as decahydrate and is above 32.38 °C. The crystallization of anhydrous sodium sulfate began at 38 °C.
