Magnesium Oxide Flue Gas Treatment

Introduction

Flue gas desulfurization is a technology that removes sulfur oxides (Sulfuric Oxides, SOx) or sulfur dioxide (Sulfur Dioxide, SO2) from the flue gas emitted by thermal power plants or other industrial facilities.

Process flow

A desulfurization system that uses magnesium oxide as a raw material and matures to produce magnesium hydroxide as a desulfurizer. In the absorption tower, the absorption slurry contacts and mixes with the flue gas, the magnesium hydroxide in the slurry and the sulfur dioxide in the flue gas undergo a chemical reaction to be removed, and finally a mixture of magnesium sulfite and magnesium sulfate is formed.
